Getting married is a unique experience and every detail about the process should represent YOUR love story. Here are some unique ideas for your upcoming engagement session.
1. Kayak / Canoe Engagement Session
This kind of session really gives me Ariel and Erik vibes. Have you been to the Little Mermaid ride at Disney World? I love any chance to recreate that scene of Ariel and Erik sharing their first kiss. This kind of session if perfect for adding a drone as well. The kayak over the water provides a really unique vantage point to capture from above.
Doing this at one of the many natural springs around Florida would be just as lovely.
Don’t have a kayak or canoe? No problem! I have one 😉 All you have to do is get your pretty butt dolled up and show up on time.

2. Thinking bigger? How about a boat engagement session.
If you live in Florida, on the coast or on an island. You’ve likely spent a great deal of your time on the water or cruising the waves. Your boat, a family boat or even a rental is the perfect place to shoot your engagement photos. This session is SO much fun and there are a lot of possibilities. The boat can even just serve as a fun backdrop to your story.

3. Consider adding a pop of champagne
A champagne pop is a really fun way to end an engagement session. It creates a fun photo op for you and your partner. It may also be good practice for your actual wedding day too.
I love doing this at the end. It’s a small way to celebrate the end of our time together and signals a job well done. Cheers!

4. If you are a pilot, or just love to travel, an airplane is perfect for you.
If you or your fiancé are a pilot, aspiring, or just a fan of the skies, I HIGHLY recommend utilizing an airplane in your engagement session. You can even change up your styling to match an older vintage feel to compliment the plane. Perhaps even a pair of aviators is all it takes.
This kind of session offers a lot of possibilities for photos. But I will say, the inside of one of these smaller airplanes can be pretty tricky to navigate. Luckily I have a nice wide angle lens to accommodate just that situation.

5. Surfer Engagement Session
At this point I am seeing a trend. It is clear that most of these ideas are very water-related in some way. I can’t help it guys, I live in Florida! Our lives revolve around salty water.
Some of ya’ll love to surf the waves on a board instead of a boat. If so, definitely incorporate your love of surfing into your engagement session. What I love about this kind of session is that you can still get dressed up in a beautiful dress or gown at the start and then strip down to your favorite bikini and make it steamy.

6. Garden Engagement Session
Have a green thumb? Do you guys spend a lot of your free time outside? Perhaps a lush garden is the perfect place for you. Flowers always add fun pops of color to every photo. These will always be one of my favorite places to shoot at.
