Getting Ready in Gainesville
Chloe and Matthew’s wedding day started with a three-hour drive for me from Merritt Island to Gainesville. I arrived at Chloe’s Airbnb where she was getting ready with her bridesmaids.
The morning was very easy going with Chloe and her girls doing their own hair and makeup. I thought the make up artist must have left because her make up was flawless!

Chloe’s bouquet, created by Alachua Flowers, was full of soft spring tones with a slightly wild look. For the reception, Chloe and her mom designed their own centerpieces using flowers from Trader Joe’s a couple days before the wedding. You couldn’t tell the difference. They had done such a beautiful job.
Wedding Portraits at the Baughman Center
Once we arrived at the Baughman Center, we were met with bright sun and a lot of wind. Not ideal, but we still managed to create some ✨ magic ✨.
We completed all of the major portraits before the ceremony including family photos, bridal party, and Chloe and Matthew’s first look. This was important to them because it meant they could fully enjoy cocktail hour later without feeling pulled away. Not to toot my own horn, but go team Chloe!

A Heartfelt Ceremony at the Baughman Center
The ceremony took place inside the Baughman Center church, which has a tall, narrow layout that creates a really breathe taking view. Chloe never thought she would get married in Gainesville. But this church specifically is what changed her mind.
Matthew got emotional when Chloe walked down the aisle. Early in the ceremony, both of their families came forward to pray over them. Such a beautiful moment for everyone involved.
After the ceremony, guests lined up outside blowing bubbles as Chloe and Matthew ran through. It was a fun and simple exit before heading to the reception.

Reception at Haile Plantation
The reception was held about 10 to 15 minutes away at Haile Plantation.
Guests enjoyed cocktail hour outside with games, drinks, and hors d’oeuvres before everyone moved inside for the evening.
Chloe and Matthew made their grand entrance together and went straight into the mother-son dance followed by their first dance.

Speeches, Dancing, and a Surprise Moment
Speeches from the groom’s brother and the bride’s best friend were beautiful and emotional. Chloe’s bff Chloe (I know) had a really touching speech that I’m sure left a tear or two from everyone in the room. followed by cake cutting from Cake Krazy and a packed dance floor led by Coastal Entertainment.
One of the most memorable parts of the night was when Matthew, a former University of Florida cheerleader, surprised everyone by performing a cheer with his old teammates. Getting to be with all his team mates under one roof was surely a special feeling for Matthew!
