Everything You Need to Prepare For Your Wedding Details

One of my favorite ways to start the day is by photographing all the beautiful details—it really sets the tone for the end gallery and tells the story of the day from the very beginning.

Additionally, all these details are the summation of you and your partner. It’s the cookies that look like your cat, the map that represents your travels, the bible your mother gave you as a kid. Little things you incorporated throughout the day that made it feel even more special.

What To Set Apart for your Wedding Details / Flatlay

The work starts the night before. You gather everything you’d love styled in one spot, prefarably a labeled bin. Some ideas are:

For the Bride: Dress, shoes, jewelry, invitation suite (with envelopes + stamps), rings, perfume, vow books, and any special heirlooms.

For the Groom: Shoes, cufflinks, tie, cologne and watch. (but not limited to)

If you’re including florals, ask your florist for a few loose blooms or greenery—we can use them to tie everything together! A pretty tray or ring box can add a lovely touch too, but don’t stress if you don’t have one—I’ll bring a few of my own styling goodies.

The goal is for you to sip your coffee, soak in the moment, and let me take care of the rest.

Communicate with your Photographer

You would be surprised how much is left off the table because of a lack of communication. If there are things that are super important, you have to let your photographer know. Like the examples I listed above, how would they know that the bible you are using during the ceremony was given to you by your mother? Or that you and your partner adopted the cat together. Some things may be obvious to you but we as wedding vendors are just learning about these fun details. Don’t forget to let us know what is imperative to capture before the day is here.
