Locations: Mead Botanical Gardens

Mead Botanical Gardens is a special place in Winter Park, Florida. It’s a well manicured garden that is free for all to enjoy. There is also ample parking on site, so no need to worry about that. Additionally, for the fur parents out there, dogs are welcome (leashed) and there is also a public restroom on site. This is great for sessions that involve wardrobe changes. The garden itself is also expansive and offers lots of great spots to capture the moment.

If you are looking for an Eden, or wooded look for your photos, this is the place. A quality that I love about these gardens are the pops of color provided by the flowers. It brings a beautiful contrast to the sea of greens that most other gardens are flooded by. I love the colors that this location provides.

Personal Recommendation

To achieve my style for our session together, these are my recommendations for shooting times.

Weekends: Regardless of the time of year, an 8 am start time is required. I do not offer sessions in the afternoon on weekends to avoid crowds of people. I have learned that clients are more at ease in front of my lens with less people around.

Weekdays: Weekdays are better for sunset sessions. The start time can change depending on the time of year, but it would be between 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm. For morning sessions, 8:00 am.
For summer months, a morning start time is highly advised to avoid the humidity. It can get really sweaty really fast in those summer months. I should be the only one sweating during our session.
